Oakmill Llywelyn 60765 'Lewie'

Lewie was born in the summer of 2002, he was the first foal of a young mare and two weeks early. His sire Talon Tristran was at the time owned by our friend and neighbour Robert Fenech of the Annod Stud.

An absolute picture from the beginning. Chestnut, four white socks and with a lovely head and blaze we could see then that he had tremendous potential. He was allowed to grow on slowly over the coming winter, stabled at night and out in his paddock during the day he started to mature at his own pace.

Come the Spring of 2003 we could see he was ready to go showing and the decision was taken to send him to Wales to compete against the best. He went to the home of Graham Roberts in North Wales to be produced and shown for the season, and what a tremendous season it was.

2004 ~ Lewie returned to Graham for the early season shows. He did just 5 shows and had wonderful results :- 4 firsts, including Glanusk, 3 championships & WPCS Medal and 3rd at Lampeter. Following Glanusk Lewie returned home to begin his stud duties at Oakmill.

2005 ~ In March Lewie once again was off to Grahams for the show season. He has excelled, he won WPCS medal first time out and has continued in superb form

While Lewie has been out showing, at home we have had his first foals born. Two quality colts (see foal page) He will return home at the end of the season for a well earned rest and will be standing at public stud in 2006 to a limited number of approved mares.
